Default Having a hard time

Hello all I'm having a hard time with trying to dish out and add a 3D object to a cylinder. Thought it would be easy but I'm missing something. I can set up the wrapper and unwrap add the oval, dish it , add the 3D model , tool path and wrap around the axis thats when things go terribly wrong. Preview looks not even close to what it should look like. Just a mess. Basically wrapping around itself. (No material showing) just a long thin line above and below the jumbled mess I have a 6.375 dia piece 22" long z zero in center, xy center. Any ideas? Thanks Dan Nelson

Dan,
It sounds like you have your model set at the bottom of the material. Go into Material Setup and make sure there is no (or very little) gap at the top.
The first picture illustrates when the gap is above the model and the second below the model. Call if you have questions.

Dan...
If you can make it happen, plan to go to Jim's Aspire Camp. Along with EVERYTHING you wanted to know about rotary axes, the best hardware and design guys will be there for Thursdays "Focus on Rotary". You don't want to miss Michael Mezalick's "Designing for Rotary" presentation.

Dan...
I have no problem hosting. Problem for you guys is that I am an Aspire dunce. But, with that said, if all were to toss a few $ in a kitty, we might entice Michael Mezalick to teach the class.

Andy...
Videos and webcasts of live presentations seldom turn out well. Missing out on the questions from audience participants usually render the feeds useless. And they are LONG, making the video files HUGE! My presentation is non-CAMaster specific, and has info for those have a rotary axis of any brand, wish to purchase a branded version or even build their own.

I can't speak for Michael, but since I offer brand specific rotary classes that can be given onsite or online, I usually don't allow recording during them. The rotary presentation at Jim's will be the exception as I have dozens of formulas and techniques that can be captured with a camera.
