Default More than one way to skin a cat

I made a side lit clock and some key fobs for my hunting camp a few years ago , using cast acrylic and diamond drag bit for the engraving .

A fella I know at another hunting club asked me if I could make a clock and some fobs for his club , based off their logo . The only catch was it was on an embroidered patch . I looked around as much as I could for a similar drawing but could not find anything close . I tried a picture and bitmap trace .

I could not get a good trace in Aspire off a picture of the embroidered patch , the edges showed so raggy it would have taken too much time to clean up .
What I ended up doing was taking a picture of the patch and tracing it in pencil with some tracing paper , took a picture of that and tried again .

The bitmap trace off of the picture of my pencil trace worked much better , I got nice sharp lines , very little cleanup left to do . I figured I'll test it on a key fob first , 1/4" cast acrylic 2" diameter . I also wanted my friends approval before making the clock and making more fobs . Here's that first fob .

Here's the Aspire preview of the clock , it will be 9" x 9" x .375" cast acrylic

I may have to shrink the height of the deer head a bit , I'll need to check the clock motor shaft washer .
I'll be showing the results to him Friday .

Thanks Joe . I think he will like the outcome . I used a similar method to get a signature in a file a few years ago and it worked quite well .

Maybe Reversed? Smaller #'s. No ring around #'s, did it quick.

Thanks for the suggestions UglySign . The fella I'm making these for wants to keep the club logo as close to the design of the patch as possible and the clock design as close to the Cross Mtn clock (first picture in post #1) as possible . I think just shrinking the height of the deer head just a touch so the clock motor shaft isn't touching the head will be ok , I'll see what he thinks tomorrow .
