Default new guy in South Carolina

I am retiring soon and looking at a stinger II to build musical instruments. I am building Celtic harps and medieval instruments ( look up CRWTH). Just visited the Camaster shop. Still in the review process. Looking at a stinger II.

Welcome, Dan, and congratulations on your impending retirement! You will find this forum and the people on it to be a wonderful resource. The Camaster machines speak for themselves, sturdy, well built and backed by a great team. When you add in the talent on this site, you simply could not invest in a better cnc machine. Best of luck. I look forward to seeing your work in the future.

Welcome! As Mr. Garber stated, Congratulations on the retirement. Being brand new to the world and having just acquired my new machine this week, WOW. You are in for some great times ahead. While I can't even muster up enough advice to be dangerous yet, I am loving it and remain enthralled with the amount of challenges (love my challenges......within reason, lol) ahead. I look forward to your joining the CAMowner section soon. Again, as Mr. Garber stated, the forum was a big selling point to me and the quality of craftsmanship in CAMaster seems to be great as well. Best wishes sir!

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum. I think the stinger II should be a good fit for what you want to do. I have a 4x4 table and it is more room than I need. Before you buy, think through how many different sizes of cutting tools you will need to use. Tool changes are a distraction and if a job has a lot of them, they are a pain. You are welcome to come up to my shop for a visit if you want to see the ATC in action. I'm about 30 miles south of Greenville.

Dan,
Welcome to the forum! Hope you decide to join in on the fun we have here! There are a number of instrument builders in our ranks. I would definitely take Charlie up on his offer if you get the chance!
I once bought an MG from a guy in Rembert back when I was working in Camden. He was stationed over at Shaw...

Lol, MR Garber, down south here, you are either a "Mr." or an "Uncle" but always a "sir" in this family. However, it would be much safer for you to be a "Mr" because, as I warned "Uncle Gary C", when they claim you as family.......they generally are wanting something from you.

Til next time "Uncle Joe".........
