Default spoilboard and FTC question

I first surfaced my spoilboard before my FTC was enabled and now it's time to resurface it and the FTC is enabled. When I ran it before, I brought the bit down to the surface, set Z0 there, ran Mick's wizard and off it went (thanks Mick). What I'm wondering if now it will run the tool change macro and try to measure the tool, which would hit the spoilboard before reaching the switch?

If you are using Mick's spoilboard wizard and not using a .tap file with a tool change post processor it should run exactly as it ran for you before .
I see you also said you set z0 at the table last time you used the Mick's wizard , I don't believe you need to even do that , I just lower my surfacing bit to the table top and hit enter as per Mick's instructions .

I've surfaced my spoil board after turning on the FTC and it works just like Herb says. Mick's wonderful little program will generate the g code, which basically leaves the FTC out of the equation. Works great. I too just set my bit to the table and hit enter and have had nothing but smooth spoil boards!

Kudos to Mick for a nifty little tool!

You're right, I forgot about not setting z0. It makes sense since you're not using a Vectric PP for the G-code. I just had this image in my mind of that big bit crashing. Thanks.

I recall that after the spoilboard is finished while the bit is still at the table with the FTC I push the "Calibrate Switch" button to set the new table z0 for all future cutting.
