Default Slider for spindle speed control

Two questions.

1.What would it take to control the spindle speed with a slider on the screen?

2. WinCNC has a variable for a laser measuring device called Optimet. Optimet website mentions a plugin for MACH4. Is a separate computer running MACH required run this system with input to WinCNC for motion control?

Thanks
Dave

Dave...
To the best of my knowledge: On the Stinger1 it takes a certain generation of control system (3rd quarter 2015 or later) that are able to use the spindle speed control feature. You may also need to upgrade the daughterboard ($) and add the software upgrade ($).

Item 2: No. If WinCNC offers Optimet Laser support, then it is supported by them. There is nothing in WinCNC that would require anything from Mach 4, and we are happy for that.

Also, I do not believe that the Stinger 1 control (of any generation) would be compatible with the Optimet system.

Double check with CAMaster to be sure.

Talking Thanks Gary

Gary thanks for your reply. I emailed the WinCNC folks and they are about to release (2-4 weeks) a new version which will include an option ($?) for laser measuring. Sounds interesting to me.
