Default Latest Project

The Spice Store that carries my cutting boards, salt/peppermills and spice boxes asked me to make some shelves and new signs for them. I've completed the shelf that holds all of their oil & vinegar bottles and now working on the sign. I will only be making the Tasting Bar sign, the flavor signs will be vinyl banners, as their flavors change from time to time. The first picture of all the signs is what the graphic artist designed. The other pictures is the Tasting Bar sign being done. I had to tile the vectors in order to do them because the sign is 105" long. This only the second time I have used the tiling method of engraving something and it worked like a charm. Now comes a little sanding, cleanup work, and then painting the letters.
The completed sign will just have a satin clear coat on it.

Looks great, Bobby.
The descender on the "y" ......you know, you can put a "bump-out" on there, say 3/4" bigger than the letter pocket, & it won't look "wrong". Actually, it will make people say "now ain't that clever", or something to that effect
Descenders can be jerks ...... .

Thumbs up

Very nice, Bobby. It makes me want to attack a project longer than my 48" bed on my Stinger.

I never knew there was such a thing as an oil and vinegar tasting bar....guess I need to get out the shop more!

Thanks for the comments, they are appreciated. TR, I asked the customer about tail of the "G" and made the suggestion of adding a "bump out" to take care of the g, but she said that was the way she wanted it. Joe, the store carries bulk spices, of any kind that you could think of and some I have never heard of, that you can buy in whatever amount that you wish. They also carry cooking oils and vinegars that you can sample, hence, the Tasting Bar. The store is a gourmet cooks delight.
