Default file associated with program

Hi
I got a windows 10 laptop and was trying to associate a file (.dxf or .dwg) with a program (Vcarvepro) and I couldn't find these two file types listed in that part of the settings. Is there a way to add them? I was able to do this in windows 7.
thanks in advance,
Brian

Control panel
Apps and features
Default apps
Choose default apps by file type

You can type default apps in the search bar down by the windows button as well.

If you mean the open with when you select a file. Have the "always open with" box checked and look in more apps for vectric.
once you get into the vectric folder look in x64 for the vectric application and pick that.

Do this for each file type you want to open in vectric.

Hi JP
thanks for the response.
I had already completed what you had suggested but the file types (ie .dxf and .dwg) are not listed there. I would like to add them to the list but do not know how to do this. I would also like to be able to include .crv to the list and have all associated with Vcarvepro. I hope I am making sense
thanks
Brian

Yeah do the 2nd thing I typed. They will be added to the file types list and associated with the correct program.
They are not always right next to each other.

right click then..

You actually need to have a dxf dwg a crv file on your computer to do the open with program deal.

Download some free samples if you don't.

JP
thanks so much! I got it working now so when I get a file emailed from a client, it opens automatically on Vcarvepro.
I see you are a Mozaik user from your signature line as am I also. How do you like using it?
thanks
Brian

I like Mozaik enough to pay them $125 a month:) I think it's the best bang for your buck even if it is a subscription.

IDK about the win7 machine, I don't have that OS on anything with cad or cam.

The choose program to run file process should be pretty similar though.
Open
Open with
choose program ect...
