Default Rolling CNC... Glen Powers

We've only been making cuts for a couple of days now but I am officially hooked. We have been doing music related items on old vinyl albums. It is a great way to start since the material is free. When I screw something up I throw it in the bin and grab another album. Here are a few items from the weekend.. The Rusty Pieces one is 2 albums with a 1 1/2" spacer between their album info and the studio that backs them. We backed some of them with colored foil paper to make them pop.

These are awesome. Did you see this somewhere else or did you just think "this might be cool" & try it?

You might do VERY well with this. There's a big market in unique stuff for all us aging baby-boomers who pretty much already have "everything" & our kids & grandkids struggle constantly trying to find stuff we might need or even like.
Unlike most .... I'm easy to please.... Islay, Speyside & Highland , I love them all. LOL

Seriously, this has great potential. Your input costs will be low, they'll be inexpensive to ship & they can hang on the wall in the "man-cave" or "she-shed", so they don't take up valuable "flat" space.

Thanks TR. I got the idea when I saw a cartoon character cut into a record. Our friends have a new album coming out soon so I jumped into making theirs first. I bit off a little more than I could chew for my first ever project in Vcarve, I probably should have started with an image that was not a portrait. We are pretty excited about how they are turning out. Now if I can just get these feeds and speeds dialed in to keep the vinyl from melting.

I actually bought a clock movement today when I was at Woodcraft and we were talking about making the Rusty Pieces one into a light for the one that we make for them. I cut a new one tonight and it came out much better.

I'm working on a bunch of designs, this is really fun. As soon as I am comfortable with the machine and we sell our house we are going to be ready to take this show on the road.

PS..Barbara Streisand makes that piece special.
