Default How do I start back a file that stopped.

I was running a simple v carve file. The air pressure switch went out on my compressor and the file aborted. I have the switch fixed. I would like to start back where I left off. Can anybody tell me how to do this. I did take a snap shot of the win CNC screen, so that I know where it stopped in the file. I haven't had to do his before.

It is easy once you have done it a few times. Really good to know. If you changed the tool be sure to use the measure tool button first. If the machine happened to be moving fast and it jerked to a stop, then initialize too before measuring.

From the file menu in WinCNC select the restart command. Note from your photo the line number you stopped at. Put that line number in the restart window. Hit the enter, a few times. It will be cutting right where it left off. You can also subtract a few lines of you want some overlap of the old and new cut.

so do I load the file and then hit the restart I'm screwing this up some how. There's a menu that comes up from the restart button.

Sorry, I didn't have the machine to look at when I typed the earlier post. Yes, in the restart dialog box use the "file path" button to open the tap file involved. Then enter the "Line Number". Two boxes are checked on mine, "Restore Vertical Axis" and "wait for user".

After hitting enter it will start the machine operation. Before cutting it will need another "Enter" key strike.

Practice with a small tap file of a rectangle if that helps. Abort and restart. All with the tool high off the table cutting air. Helps build some conficence.
