Unsolicited plug => I've had one of the pen marking holders for over a year now. Use it more often than I thought I would. Very good quality accessories.

Second that. I have the Sharpie/pencil combo. These are nicely machined, and I'm a retired machinist.

Ok...Im gonna show my lack of intelligence again.
I think these tools are really neat...but I am perplexed as to how you use them in Aspire??? Is there a tool you add to the list that specifies no spindle speed?
Im so confused! Please enlighten me......

You can make a post processor to disable the spindle (remove M3). Just copy one and edit it. You have to rename it inside the file as well (use notepad). If you have a router, just don't turn it on.

Thanks for the plugs!

Joe, for drawing I use the Quick Engrave toolpath and turn the spindle VFD to zero.

Pen tool is easily done with profile toolpaths (zero RPM).

The drag knife has more to it (in addition to zero RPM). It takes some different programming. You have to observe the offset when programming. You can't run it along a profile that has a sharp acute angle corner due to the way it corners, for example. You can add radii or use special programming for it. Vectric has a "Drag Knife Gadget" that works well (you should have this in Aspire). It works out the corners and start/end points. With the drag knife, the more attention you put into the programming, the better the results.
