Default Fixing "stupid"

No matter how long you've been doing stuff, you still make stupid mistakes.
This sign was to look pretty much like it does now, but dumbass me forgot to allow for the slight angle on a tapered .125" ballnose & ended up with serifs that were about .040" wide. Not big enough to do much of anything with.
So, I made a new sign, a bit bigger, with nice width on the serifs ......
But, being of fine Scottish stock, I hate wasting things & it dawned on me that I could resurrect this sign by using chisels to remove the flawed lettering, cutting new letters, pouring a layer of epoxy in the pocket & the wee bit of space left....... well, drop some really fine smalts in there.
The final result is attached.
Original customer ( actually a student at the last workshop) has no need for it, so it's going as a sales sample to one of my wholesale customers in Northern Ontario.

Maybe you can't make a silk purse from a sows ear, but you can make a pigskin purse..........

I'd consider that a silk purse. It looks perfect to me.

Rodger,

That looks great and if you hadn't told us about your mistake, we would have been none the wiser!

I like the texture behind the copy. Is that raised circles?
