We have used the vortex .125" bits and we broke them as well, I believe the problem with their bit is the overall bit length is too long...

There is a button in the toolpathing that will let you change from raster in y to raster in x.
You could also make that shape with a flutting toolpath.

Plywood is vac friendly if you buy it flat or with a little cup is even better just no s bends, that said if you buy cheap stuff you need to cut before it cups real bad.

It does not, big iron CNC's just drop one on and go (change out as needed).
But if you are not running your vac table all day your SB may get mis-shaped, move and cause problems.

Just use v-carve to draw your cab parts, Solidworks is great (i use Creo 3.0 for complex things) but you can go a lot faster using v-carve to make boxes, shelf pins, and dados.
