Joe, that's just painted on. I used a paintmask. If it's a simple font, I don't bother with the paintmask, but with this one, it's faster.

A combination of texture, flat pockets, V-carved letters & a hand-carved skull. I'm nowhere near smart enough to model this. Besides, my chisels would be jealous ....

Coastal Enterprise, the manufacturer of Precision Board, makes a "doming" epoxy that will work. PB Resin. I use it regularly on signs. Like any epoxy, it wil "yellow" but you'll not notice it on...
