If you design it properly, you can use shorter 2' T-track sections that fit entirely within each vac zone, so when you through a spoilboard on top you can still use each vacuum zone separately. If you leave a little gap above the T-track, the vacuum can still pass over it and so it shouldn't affect your vacuum plenum much at all.
