Default clear plastic

Hey guys,

I've got a job to quote cutting clear plastic sneeze guards you might be seeing in the stores at the cashier stations now days. My question is what is the easiest material type to cut on the cnc. If it was all simple rectangle parts I would just cut them on the panel saw, unfortunately these parts require slots and cut outs so it requires the cnc.

Cast Acrylic is a hard shore a hard shore will have a lower melt temp and it is what we use for LED signs

Any polycarbonate or acrylic is easy to cut on CNC. Use single flute Oflute spirals. Try to get extruded vs. cast.

I'm trying to make sneeze guards as well using 0.25" cast clear acrylic.
I'm having trouble with chips welding the pieces back together. Using 18k rpm and 80 in/min feedrate. Any recommendations?

Fastest feedrate possible and low rpm's will minimize welding issues, could also try blowing air if able. In all cases, fresh sharp bit is necessary for optimal results.

I cut it in 1 pass at 200ipm at 18k rpm with a 3/16" oflute bit.

1/4 polycarbonate- same feeds/speeds but with 2 passes: Climb cut first pass down to .04 off spoilboard. Conventional cut thru pass.
