Well, I guess a high tech stick is in my future. A full sized gun is kinda awkward IMHO. Thanks for the tip!

Of course I had problems using a needle to grease those zerks so I bought this.

Just wanted to thank you again. Got everything all lubed up today with that nozzle tip.

For others that may find this thread, I am using this cheap gun I already had:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

that gun plus some plumbers tape (thread seal), screw in hose, EzPZ lube lock ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ), and the above nozzle to do the trick for the hard to reach Y axis zerks.

I just put zerks on my machine and bought a needle and flex hose at O'Reillys. Needle works great except that you need one hand to hold it in and 2 more hands to work the grease gun. I just ordered this gun which I hope will make it easier to manage. I like that it is a full size gun so cartridges are easier to get.

That one handed operation does look nice! If you have time, maybe you can share your experience once it arrives.

It arrived the next day. I am waiting for the grease to arrive and will try it this weekend. I'll let you know if it is worthwhile.

I finally got around to using that new gun. Seems to be pretty well made for what it is. I was a little surprised about the handle. The finger lever is solidly attached to the gun and the part that goes in the palm is what you squeeze. Not a deal killer but if it were the other way around the gun I believe the gun would stay more steady. As you pump it, the gun wants to move around a bit but it is still manageable and definitely easier to manage than the traditional lever.

I used the hose that came with it and put my needle on the end. My bearings had no grease in them and it seemed to fill them up in 3-4 squeezes. I have 13 zerks on my machine. It took me about 10 minutes to fill them all except for the screw on the Z. I am going to have to get another needled for that and put a slight bend in it to be able to reach it and get a good seat.

Ended up with easy control so made virtually no mess and probably did the job in about 1/4 of the time that the traditional gun was taking because of using a needle and hose I really would have needed 3 hands to work the old one efficiently.

I would recommend it to anyone looking for one.

Thank you for taking the time to review and share in depth details. I've had to fight a few times with my big lever, so it is good to know there are better options.

Good luck with the Z. That sounds like a tough fit.
