I did the very same thing! Mine was due to error in speed with a 3/8 compression bit that was going way to fast. As I was adjusting the speed to what it should have been, I slowed it down too far before I got it adjusted correctly but it only took microseconds to burn the wood. With the vacuum running it burned the plywood and spoilboard. All of this happened in less than 15 seconds. If I had not been standing by the machine, I can't imagine what the fire would have been like.
