Default laser Engraver

Ok, I have a Camaster Stinger 1. (I am a novice) But I LOVE my machine and have steadily progressed with Aspire.

I WANT a laser engraver. I don't want to spend over 10K. Let's just file this in the "stimulus spending" category.

I would appreciate any recommendations as I know some of you CNC guys probably dabble in Laser engraving as well. (It can do some things my CNC cannot that I have a demand for)

I also want a 12 inch jointer, and a drum sander and a Wagner moisture meter but I know what I want in those...just don't know enough about the laser stuff. User friendly would be good because I am not the sharpest tool in the shop.

Just for reference I am looking into the Laguna Smart Shop MX or one of the Epilog Lasers.

I have a glow forge pro and in general I love it. I think if I were to do it again I would get the base model. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I don't have one but from what I've heard Epilog seems to be the gold standard. I know there are several people on this board that have them. Maybe some of them will chime in with first hand experience.

Probably much the same as many other people: custom engraving. Tinkering in retirement. But making side money would be awesome.
I have made American Flags, State flags, College "flags" and have sold some.
Would love to make cutting boards, wall art, charcuterie boards, presentation boards, wedding personalization the glass "etching", yeti cup personalization, I guess pretty much the same thing a lot of people do, I think customer acquisition and a niche market is everyone's dream. Rodeo themed signage etc...being from Wyoming.

In the end I would like to make something that could make some profit so I could tie it in to helping my sons non-profit survive. whiteheart.org

Id say trotec is the best epilog is pretty good. Just like cncís itís all relative. Some folks have good experiences some donít.
I got a Chinese machine about 6 years ago. Overall itís been very reliable. Iíd look at both the hardware and software with any laser.
Boss laser may be worth a look and Ray at rabbit laser is perhaps the most knowledgeable person Iíve talked with.

Good luck!

we have a 120w epilog, 24" x 36". it is getting about 10 yrs old now, we recently had a factory rep come and refurbish it. without a doubt, epilogs customer service is EXTREMELY good!!!
