Default Tool Path for Straight Line

What tool path method would I use for a centre line rout where Id like it to perform in multiple passes and also tab? Is this possible? The profile option didn't seem to work for me, but maybe I did something incorrectly?

You should be able to profile cut on the line. Sometimes to save time cutting, I will draw a rectangle instead of a line (but just .002" wide). Then I can use a spiral cut on the line with tabs (tabs on both sides of the 'rectangle' in the same place - a tab on only one side will get cut through when the other side is cut!)

This just cuts in both directions instead of raising, travelling back to the start point, and cutting another pass (frustratingly slow process if you need to do a lot of these cuts).
