Default WinCNC resolution problems

Have had these problems before, now worse than ever.

Just upgraded from a 19" monitor to 23" ... Wincnc looks terrible. Have tried in succession just about every resolution available, win screen is either too tiny or so big that only parts of the screen can be seen/accessed.
Can't seem to find a sweet spot where it simply just fills the screen like any normal program does.

Any suggestions of settings, really hate when a major PITA erupts over something that should be so simple and take about 5 seconds to adjust.

I did notice that when you change resolutions and it asks if you want to keep them, the change won't take effect until you actually restart, making the whole thing that much more of a hassle.
Right now I can only see about half of the grid area which shows the part, going up to the next resolution the whole wincnc box only fills about 3/4 of the screen.

Doug, Iam currently running mine on a 21 inch monitor full screen. Look up hbutch8 on the stinger part of the forum for pic's. If you like it I could send you the files to be changed. 3or 4 other people have used my files with no problems.

Doug,
There is no easy way to resize the Wincnc screen, it has to been manually done button for button, it takes a few hours.

Thanks H, don't know how much use the files will be to me since there is alot there I don't need [laser/auto start ect], plus it seems to be for cobra and not a stinger.

So if anyone has files for a 23" monitor, I'd be much obliged.
Have never in 20 years seen another program like this, major neg points to wincnc for this, unless there is some specific, necessary reason why it is so size hobbled.

I can't get by not seeing half of the grid, I use that for precise centering of material so I guess I'll have to make it small so at least I can see/use the whole thing.

edit: Tried it and it seems to work fine, extra stuff doesn't show and screen is 95% filled

Doug,

Can't really speak to the specific issues you're seeing. I use a larger screen (32") with a lower resolution (1440x900) as I want to be able to clearly see the screen from across the shop. I use a wireless keyboard so my 'desk' is frequently 10' away from the screen. Just another use case to consider.

My screen layout is shown here. This fills about 2/3 of my screen as I have things set up. I can share files with you if useful.

You might try fiddling with the monitor resolution from Windows. Perhaps.

I tried for a long time fiddling with resolution, as per the OP "Have tried in succession just about every resolution available".

Situation seems resolved now as per post #5, assuming all the functions work correctly.

Mike,
I have played around with my screen and thought i had a nice setup... until I saw yours!

I would be interested in your files if you don't mind sharing. you can send the screen file only. I think the icons are the same as what i have.

what is the long slide in the upper right?? spindle?

Guys...
Maybe we should have a few screen modification classes?

Here are a few that I have done for a few projects over the last few years. Most are sized to be almost full screen on my 21" monitors. I usually leave room for 1 row of icons on the left side to access a few folders.

As you can see, if you spend a little time, you can do most anything
