Its that time of year for me when I have $$ flowing out of my ears and I look to do a little investing in tooling before I go broke again, this year it will be a dust collector and bandsaw, but thats not quite enough.
I've been wanting to try vacuum clamps for a while now, any sources ? I looked on ebay they seem to have clamps here, venturis there, pumps here ,,, I'd like to get a kit with everything I need. I guess pump is the most important thing.

Doug,
Joe Woodworker was recommended to me a while back. Great resource and he sells all the parts too. http://www.joewoodworker.com/veneeri...umclamping.htm John

I just built the Joe Woodworker venturi system, based on a few recommendations here, and it is great. Keep in mind that you will need a decent air compressor to operate it. I am still amazed how well vacuum clamping works.
I'm in the process of building custom vacuum jigs for my parts. I made a rookie mistake last night and forgot to account for the added Z hight of the jig...the Cobra ate right through my part and destroyed the jig. Hopefully I won't make that mistake again! |
