Default Our Latest Plasma

This is actually a couple of months ago just now getting to it. It shows the new break away for the plasma wand.

Glad to see a H.D. plasma cutter on one of these guys.

Luke how are you liking the Thermal Dynamics cutter?
I'm not much of a fan of them but when cutting aluminum I think they are awesome. I retrofit many of these plasmas with other controls... Mainly Hypertherm and Kaliburn units.
I really like the use of your slats. I always felt that there should be minimal contact between the plate and the slats and have been stressing this to my peers for a change order. I guess old habits die hard.

Love to see more of what you guys are doing with it. Can you point me in that direction?

Regarding the break-away is it magnetic or pneumatic? By the looks, from my view, it is magnetic.

Keep up the great work guys!!

Why did they stop making the plasma table? Seems like a logical extension since they have all the underlying engineering.

I believe they chose to focus on CNC routers and producing the best product possible. Many CNC companies over the years have dropped plasma. They require a lot of support especially for inexperienced users and they are temperamental. Been there done that 20 years ago. From a business perspective there isn't a lot of profit selling them.

If you absolutely need one you'd be better off doing some research and building your own. Any CNC chassis without a center screw will do, a hyperthem and wincnc controls and you've got a system that is as good as any on the market.

Agree. And they are taking 3 months to deliver routers, so adding another line would probably be a disaster. I was considering a plasma but after visiting Fabtech last month, I decided on a waterjet.

Default Plasma

Had one of the first plasmas Camaster made on my Cobra. I agree with Brady as to them being problematic. But I have to say it opens a world of opportunities for fabrication and business and design. One huge problem was lack of Camheads with a plasma attached so asking community questions was non existant. Still I love my plasma/router combo.
