Well it took me a while to get going on the recoil and after taking Gary's training on all things spinny I am exited see how this will evolve.
I turn a lot of salt and pepper grinders on my conventional lathe and it is a real challenge to have a set that match exactly, especially the sphere top. the eye can pick up even the slightest variation and I am a stickler for the details. My first one was successful but wasn't quite happy with how it went back on the lathe to do all of the necessary boring so on the second one I rough turned on the lathe, bored all of the holes then mounted on the recoil using basically a jamb chuck and only had to run a finish pass. put it back on the lathe for the final beads and sanding and it maintained a tolerance of .01 or even less attachmentid=16346&stc=1&d=1549623980[/url]
