I've found that if I have thick material that needs both downcut and upcut profile toolpaths (where a compression can't be used such as in your case) and it needs a clean up pass; I program all the cuts that don't go thru as a climb cut. Then I come back with an upcut for the final one pass "cleanup/cut thru pass" in a conventional direction. Works really well and I don't have to program an offset on the first passes as the bit will ever so slightly be pushed away from the line on the climb cuts and then the bit will be pulled right to the line on the conventional cuts leaving a super smooth edge.

I bet you had a dumptruck load of MDF dust to deal with.

Can't wait to see pictures of them installed.

I bet you could sell that as "pumpkin spice" coffee mix!

Very nice work, by the way.

Michael, I'll do that. It's supposedly in New Hope (which is my mailing address, although I'm physically in Buckingham) so I'm very much looking forward to see the results. The owner is supposedly doing a serious restoration here...he's the best friend of the local cabinetmaker who brought me the work.
