Default Caster equip table

Hi all,

After procrastinating for a couple of years I placed my order. My youngest Son and I toured the plant with Grant a few months back. We were on the way out to Tulsa to visit a guy I've been following for years that's is building a 74 foot steel boat in his front yard.

What I ordered was the Stinger I (SR 24) - 1 KW (1.34 HP) Spindle - - Fast Tool Change (FTC) - Laser - Counter Balance - Lathe and Phenolic Table Top.

Grant said that's pretty much everything you can get on the Stinger 1.

I do have a question and will say I've not searched the forum to see if it's been answered. The machine will live mostly in an air-conditioned room within the Toy Barn but I may want to roll it out on the floor or even outside on occasion. All the floors are very smooth concrete so my question is, is this a bad idea? I assume as the frame is as stout as it is that a table with large casters would not really matter?

"Grant said that's pretty much everything you can get on the Stinger 1."

Except the Stinger 1 stand, it comes with casters....

Congratulations on your Camaster purchase!

You should be fine with casters with the smaller Stinger I--the Camster stand has provisions for them, but you can make things even better on a shop-built table/stand if you use a "Zambus" type that basically has a solid foot on the floor if you're not actively moving the unit. At a minimum, use double high quality locking casters to minimize any movement caused by the gantry and spindle flying around the machine.
