Haven't posted anything in a while, here is another SOA design I made recently, yellowheart again. This time I did the rockers/banners, this is for a chick in CA that is going to get it signed by the cast.

While we were discussing detials of the project she called the wood "yellowtail", I thought that was pretty funny.

Lettering is off a bit but the model itself is top notch, if I do say so myself.

I like the textured ones too, only drawback is texture adds a couple hours to the cut but the final result is worth it. Wood bark and stone/bricks are my favorites, been thinking of doing a fence texture. I used to make custom textures for Aspire alot but I forgot how I did it, going to have to brush up on that.

Thumbs up

Very nice, Doug. And I have to agree on the textured ones...they really pop!

Purpleheart, large [for me] at 16x12", probably as close to a table top as I will ever get [actually ,my machine is capable of doing one twice this size, would take some nerve, alot of time and a large chunk of wood].

Came out nice, lettering is a little weak. Its a fine line between going too deep and ruining the letters or not deep enough and you barely have a scratch. Tried to go between those extremes, could always color them with a sharpie if you wanted them to stand out more ,,, But I tend not to like coloring to my designs. Lettering on 3d is not one of my strong points, I'm sure many guys here could do much better.

For finish I used 2 coats of matte clear then some beeswax polishing oil.

Yeah thats probably about 1/4 of what I got made, most of it has been hanging for years and will continue to hang - I like making stuff ! SOA will likely sell eventually, have sold lots of them but they are a tough sell because places like ebay still enforce copyright on this design even though the show has been dead for years.
