Default Best sheet material for...

...making a bead-board skirt for a porch? The guy that's loaded/unloaded all of our shop equipment is reworking his porch and want's something pretty stable and rigid to use for skirting and wants us to cut some beading in it. We were originally thinking Azek but thought it had a skin we would cut through for the beading. Sign foam would be too brittle at 1/4 or 1/2" right?

This would be ideal but the specs say that the beaded boards and sheets are designed for high moisture interior spaces, unlike their other products that spec out as interior or exterior. I wonder what's different?

One of the challenges with "plastic" products like Azak is that they exhibit significant expansion/contraction with temperature...but they would machine nicely for your application. The expansion contraction would have to be considered in the mounting/trim work for sure. Advantech, which is an exterior rated "OSB-like" product would also work if you do the beading on the smoother side and it gets sanded before priming and paint (both sides and edges). But don't think it comes thinner than nominal 3/4".
