Noise, heat, and motor life.


While all vacuum pumps make noise, and generate heat, big expensive pumps produce less than a black box. And they can last 10-20 years, running all day, every day, with minimal maintenance.
And a pump like a 10HP rotary vane pump should easily outperform a black box.

I went with the Hurricane because of price. I was pretty shocked at the cost of a bigger vac system. I felt like I was already spending enough.

I have to say though it works well. I did buy a big box of 3m foam earplugs......
