Default Upgrade Computer Question

Hi everyone. I have a Stinger 1 that is about 6 years old. I would like to replace the original ASUS computer (running Win 7) with a small footprint Dell running Win10. While I’m at it, this would seem a good time to upgrade WinCNC to the current version.
My question is: what is the best path for the upgrade? Buy the new PC and copy the WinCNC folder to the new PC, then do an upgrade from the WinCNN site? Or, is there an upgrade process through Camaster?
Thanks,
Pat

I’d start with Camaster for everything. That way you’ll get it done so it works in the end.

Talking to Camaster is a good idea, but talking to the folks at WinCNC is also a good idea. Depending on the version of WinCNC you currently have, you may also need to upgrade the daughterboard, not just the software.

IIRC, WinCNC will sell you the full Windows 10 PC setup ready to run.

I upgraded my 7 yr old Asus PC to 8gigs of ram and a 500gig SSD drive a few months ago. It made an enormous improvement in performance.

A sata ssd will make an old machine feel snappier for sure. I kind of forgot that mechanical drives were a thing.
You might see what your cpu is and if that can be upgraded as well.

Thanks everyone! I received a very fast response from Camaster on my question. It looks like the best approach to to work directly with WinCNC.
I will be contacting them later today.
Thanks again,
Pat

I made this upgrade not long ago; WinCNC was awesome to work with. They cannibalized my old box to reuse what was still serviceable and sent me a shiny new one in record time.
