Default laser engraving

I would like to know of anyone using laser for engraving projects.
I would like to see Camaster come up with a laser attachment for their
CNC machines. Would this be possible, or would I be better off purchasing
a laser machine?

Please let me know what your thoughts are on this matter, thanks.

We do have a true 7watt laser engraving attachment. Unfortunately it is not available as a retrofit. It is available on all of our lines as an add on. We can do both vector engraving and bitmap engraving (I believe up to 8bit). I know Luke posted some pictures and one of the first guys to get one, I believe, is on here.

I have a separate 45 watt 18 inch by 24 inch laser I use for small detail work, and inlays for the caskets I build. I prefer 2 seperate machines.

I second the motion for two separate machines. I have an Epilogue 60W, and it's a great compliment to the Camaster.

Hey Guys,

Sorry I was out of town last week. Kevin spoke correctly on what he was saying. We do offer a 7w laser as of now.

Iím a long time user of CAMaster machines and Iím thinking about upgrading. I would like to see some examples of the laser. I would specifically like to see any pictures done in wood.

Thanks,
Mark

I am unsure of the smaller style lasers but when the company I was working for was buying a new laser (4k watt Mazak), we found out that the CO2 laser can not engrave aluminum/copper/brass because of how reflective it is. You need a fiber head/set up for the that.
