Default Cobra Issue

Had an unusual situation today. I started a job and noticed the spindle wouldn't come on as the job started. I simply stopped the program and pressed "spindle on" re-entered the program and everything ran fine, although the spindle did not stop when the job was over.
I shut everything down and restarted, when I pressed initialize the spindle started to go to the home position but sounded like there were all sorts of loose bolts and nuts and shaking going on.Everything is tight and in order. I can jog the spindle around the table with the arrow keys and it runs like a Swiss watch as it always had. I'm thinking a possible communication problem or a failed part on the circuit board.
