The new 2014 Black Box Units have a integrated cooling fan as well as a adjustable relief valve to help protect the motors.

The valve will allow the motors to pull air from another chamber from inside the box. This will help keep down any noise from the valve.

The electric fan also helps with the over all noise of the unit by eliminating the top vent that was directly above the motors.

This change is on all three Black Box Units.

Michael, I just used 2" Schedule 40 PVC pipe to make up the plumbing under the table. I cut a plenum into the MDF top, with a hole cut through for the pipe to come up into (I made sure the holes lined up with the holes precut in the frame under the table, so I just had to run the PVC pipe straight across and out the back).

I'm really interested in that Black Box vac. Do you have a flow/pressure chart for it? (what would the pressure be at say 200cfms?)

That's one sweet looking black box Joey ........ is that one mine. I am in the design stage of creating a vacuum top. I want a 1" phenolic top (no swelling) and pop-up pins to a line my sheet good, that the reason I bought a 5x8 machine. I will only be cutting a 4x8 vacuum plenum. So once I get all the parts in house I will be modifying my machine.

If my CNC crashes will the black box have to be sent away to be inspected to find out what went wrong.
